Every Time We Say Goodbye 好久不見
(In collaboration with WK)

Site-specific drawing & video installation
Dimensions variable
11 September – 16 November 2008

The work was presented in Singapore Biennale 2008, in a series of four interconnected rooms located at the former Singapore Ministry of Defence Beach Road Camp, now known as South Beach, a mixed-use development.

This collaboration between two artists, one working in drawing and the other working with video, explores memory, space and time. While Tang creates her charcoal drawing on the wall in one part of the space, WK documents the spaces on site, then projects this in another part of the space. Not only will they reference the immediate site of their rooms, but also include fragmentary images of urban public thoroughfare in Singapore that are both simultaneously ubiquitous and unique. While walking between and encountering these rooms, the audience will experience the new and familiar in a never-ending cyclic greeting of sorts.
