Rendezvousing in Transit is the the first dance film that Ling Nah made, in collaboration with dancers Eng Kai Er and Jereh Leung, filmmaker Lei Yuan Bin, and animation artist Lee Yi-Shen. It examines the urban conditions of the city, specifically the transitional spaces such as corridors, alleys, passageways and void decks, and the relationships of these spaces with passersby, and that between passersby themselves. These passersby may be the office lady in a suit, or a jogger in the city, or even some quirky characters. The “rendezvousing” then flows into a “charcoal dance”, where the lines and marks of the charcoal drawing interact with the characters in a dance in space. Rendezvousing in Transit is featured in the documentary Dreaming in Black and White: Portrait of a Singapore Artist—Tang Ling Nah.
